Yamaha U10BL Upright Piano
The “U Series” of Yamaha upright pianos has been in production for an extensive period within Yamaha’s upright piano history. It started in the 1950s and continued until the 1990s, with model changes made to stay in line with the times. During the years when the “U10BL” was manufactured, from 1987 to 1989, Yamaha pianos enjoyed top-class popularity worldwide, firmly establishing their position. The standard model “U10BI” garnered acclaim for its delicate craftsmanship and high-quality tone.
Standing at a height of 121cm (47.64 inches), it offers a compact size that doesn’t encroach upon the room space. With its bright tone and responsive touch, it provides a reassuring sense of familiarity and reliability, making it a classic choice for pianists.
Yamaha U Series
The U series boasts a long history and enduring popularity as Yamaha’s staple upright piano series. Its sound and touch are standard, catering to a wide range of players from beginners to advanced levels, offering enjoyment across various genres, from classical to jazz. The U series features popular models such as the U1, U10, U10A, and so on, which have been succeeded by the current YUS series.
Generally, there are three models: Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3.
- Type 1 (height 121cm / 47.6 inches) includes models like the U1, U1H, U10A, and YU10. With its 121cm height, it fits neatly into a room, providing a compact size that minimizes the feeling of space constraint and blends well with interior decor.
- Type 2 (height 125cm / 49.2 inches) includes models like the the U2. Positioned between Type 1 and Type 3, it offers a balance of sleekness and a richer sound compared to Type 1. ( Type 2 models are currently not in production. )
- Type 3 (height 131cm / 51.6 inches) includes models like the U3, U3H, U30, and YU30. With a bigger size, it delivers a richer tone. Additionally, the increased height of the action allows for finer touch adjustments.
