Exceptional Tone and Playability: The Yamaha LL16MARE Original Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar
When you seek a guitar with exceptional tone and playability, consider the Yamaha LL16MARE Original Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar. As part of Yamaha’s prestigious L Series, the LL16MARE features a hand-selected, solid Engelmann spruce top treated with Yamaha’s A.R.E. process and mahogany back and sides. Consequently, it delivers a rich, warm sound with a full-range response. Additionally, the 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck comes with a smooth-playing ebony fretboard, a new, slimmer neck shape, and an enhanced fingerboard edge. The passive SRT Zero Impact pickup uses a separate element for each string, providing authentic plugged-in tones. Ultimately, the updated Yamaha LL16MARE offers outstanding tone and playability in a premium acoustic-electric guitar.
Innovative Construction for Superior Performance
Yamaha’s commitment to excellence is reflected in the LL16MARE’s exceptional tone and smooth playability. The guitar benefits from Yamaha’s A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) wood torrefaction, which imparts a broken-in, aged tone. By controlling atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity, this process adjusts the molecular properties of the wood to resemble those of a guitar played for years. Moreover, each L Series guitar includes modified non-scalloped bracing, which enhances the guitar’s low end. In addition, the 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck has undergone a redesign to improve playability by re-evaluating string height and spacing. As a result, the LL16MARE utilizes these advancements to offer a superbly playable and great-sounding instrument.
Hand-Selected Spruce Top for Superior Sound
The choice of top wood significantly influences an acoustic guitar’s sound. For the LL16MARE, Yamaha selected a premium, hand-picked solid Engelmann spruce top. This top was chosen not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its well-rounded, articulate sound with excellent projection. Yamaha’s A.R.E. wood torrefaction process further enhances the tone. Additionally, the solid mahogany back and sides contribute exceptional bass and powerful punch, and they add to the guitar’s visual appeal.
Full-Range Passive Pickup System
Yamaha designed the SRT Zero Impact pickup to deliver a faithful reproduction of the LL16MARE’s natural, dynamic sound while minimizing any impact on the guitar’s aesthetics and tone. Unlike active pickups, this passive design avoids a bulky preamp routed into the body, which could detract from the instrument’s appearance and resonance. Instead, each string features its own piezoelectric element, ensuring a full and accurate sound. However, since this is a passive pickup system, you’ll need an external preamp to plug in the Yamaha LL16MARE.
