Product Information of Yamaha Acoustic Electric Guitar LL16LARE
The Yamaha LL16LARE is an acoustic-electric guitar designed for professional musicians and serious enthusiasts. This is part of our collection of acoustic-electric guitars.
Premium Construction and Design
The lefty LL16LARE features an all-solid Mahogany or Rosewood back and sides, complemented by a hand-selected premium Engelmann Spruce top.
As part of Yamaha’s legendary L Series, the LL16 boasts a hand-selected, solid Engelmann spruce top that has undergone Yamaha’s A.R.E. process. This process, combined with solid rosewood back and sides, ensures a rich, warm sound with a full-range response. Furthermore, the 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck offers not only a smooth-playing ebony fretboard but also a newly designed slimmer neck shape and an enhanced fingerboard edge. In addition, the passive SRT Zero Impact pickup features a separate element for each string, delivering authentic plugged-in tones. Consequently, the updated Yamaha LL16 combines exceptional tone and playability in a premium acoustic-electric guitar.
Innovative Construction Enhancements
Innovative construction enhances the guitar’s performance. For instance, Yamaha’s A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) wood torrefaction process improves the tone by giving the guitar a broken-in, aged quality. By meticulously controlling atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity, the process manipulates the wood’s molecular properties to mimic the characteristics of a guitar that has been played extensively. Additionally, each L Series guitar includes modified non-scalloped bracing, which enriches the guitar’s low end. After re-evaluating string height and spacing, the 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck now features a new design that enhances playability.
Superior Tone from Hand-Selected Spruce
The choice of top wood significantly influences an acoustic guitar’s sound. For the LL16, Yamaha selected a premium, hand-selected solid Engelmann spruce top. This choice, made for both its appearance and tone, results in a well-rounded, articulate sound with excellent projection. Yamaha’s A.R.E. wood torrefaction process further refines this tone. Moreover, the solid rosewood back and sides contribute exceptional bass and powerful punch, while also enhancing the guitar’s visual appeal.
Full-Range Passive Pickup System
The LL16 features a full-range passive pickup system. Yamaha’s SRT Zero Impact pickup faithfully reproduces the LL16’s natural, dynamic sound while maintaining a low profile that minimally affects the guitar’s aesthetics and tone. Unlike bulky preamps that detract from the instrument’s resonance, this passive design uses a separate piezoelectric element for each string, ensuring a complete and accurate sound. However, remember that, because this is a passive pickup system, you will need to use an external preamp when connecting the Yamaha LL16.
