Blackstar HT Venue MK III: Setting a New Standard
Blackstar’s multi-award-winning HT Venue valve line once again raises the bar in amplifier technology. Renowned for its exceptionally clean and overdrive tones, the HT Venue line combines all of these features in a single unit that’s perfect for both gigs and studio settings. In 2023, Blackstar proudly introduces the next generation of HT Venue valve amplifiers, designed to inspire and elevate your performances.
Versatile Amplification for Every Player
The HT Venue MK III is a highly adaptable amplifier, tailored for a wide variety of playing styles and musical situations. One of its standout features is the Clean Channel, which offers two distinct voices: one inspired by a classic American circuit and the other by a traditional British tone. With the Voice switch, you can effortlessly reconfigure the preamp voicing, EQ settings, and valve gain structure, along with the power amplifier damping. This innovative design results in a bright and clean sound with solid bass for the American tone, while the British tone delivers a responsive ‘chime’ with a looser bottom end, perfect for pushing into a rich midrange overdrive when cranked. For added convenience, the Voice setting can also be selected via a foot controller.
Dynamic Overdrive Channels
The HT Stage MK III features two Overdrive channels that share a common EQ section. Each Overdrive channel, like the Clean Channel, includes a Voice switch, allowing you to alter the character of each channel and providing a vast array of overdriven tones. Moreover, switching between channels will recall the specific Voice setting last used, maintaining a seamless playing experience.
Natural and High-Gain Overdrive
Characterized by a high-gain tone, the Overdrive channels avoid the common issue of detached top-end ‘fizz’ often present in other amplifiers. This exceptional clarity results from Blackstar’s unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques. Notably, the overdrives respond beautifully as you reduce the guitar volume, ensuring a natural sound even at extreme settings.
Innovative Tone Shaping with ISF Control
The patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control is a hallmark of Blackstar Amplification, marking a significant leap in tone-shaping flexibility. The ISF control allows you to shift the response of the three control tone stack between a US-style response on one end and a UK-style response on the other. In between these two extremes lies an infinite range of alternative tone choices that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Customizable Digital Reverb
Enjoy the natural-sounding digital reverb that can be adjusted via the front panel Reverb control or turned on and off using the optional 5-way foot controller. A rear panel switch allows you to select between the ‘Dark’ and ‘Light’ reverb settings. The Dark setting emulates a room reverb, while the Light setting is based on a plate reverb. Furthermore, the reverb decay times can be independently adjusted for each channel by connecting to our proprietary Architect software via USB.
Flexible Power Options
A convenient Power Switch on the front panel allows you to toggle the amplifier between full power and 10% power. This feature enables you to enjoy the full tonal depth of the valve power stage at any volume, preserving the distinctive sound of power valves working hard.
Advanced Connectivity for Recording
The built-in USB connector allows you to send up to four channels of the guitar signal—dry, preamp out, and stereo emulated out—directly into your computer for recording. It also facilitates connection to the previously mentioned Architect software, enabling in-depth editing not only of the reverb but also extensive control over CabRig parameters. This includes a power amp, speaker, cabinet, mic, and room emulations, all accessible through the USB, balanced DI, and stereo headphone/line outputs. These features make the HT Venue MK III ideal for practicing, recording, and live performance.
With these innovations, the Blackstar HT Venue MK III stands out as a versatile, powerful tool for musicians looking to enhance their sound and performance.
