Product Information of Blackstar HTV-100-MKIII-S – HT Stage 100 MK III Head – Snakeskin Amplifier
The Blackstar HTV-100-MKIII-S – HT Stage 100 MK III Head – Snakeskin is an amplifier produced by Blackstar. This is part of our collection of amplifiers.
Blackstar’s multi-award-winning HT Venue valve line has once again raised the benchmark for guitar amplifiers. Renowned for its exceptionally clean and overdrive tones, this line combines outstanding performance with the gig and studio-friendly design. In 2023, Blackstar proudly introduces the next generation of HT Venue valve amplifiers, designed to inspire your musical journey.
Versatile Amplification
The HT Venue MK III is an exceptionally versatile amplifier that caters to a wide range of playing styles and situations. Its Clean Channel boasts two distinct voices, each crafted from classic circuit designs—one inspired by American tones and the other by British characteristics. Notably, the Voice switch reconfigures the preamp voicing, EQ, and valve gain structure, along with the power amplifier damping. As a result, players can achieve a clean, bright sound with solid bass response for the American tone, while the British tone offers a highly responsive ‘chime’ with a looser bottom end that can transition into a midrange overdrive when pushed. Additionally, the Voice setting can be easily selected using a foot controller for added convenience.
Dynamic Overdrive
Moving on to the HT Stage MK III, this amplifier features two Overdrive channels that share a common EQ section. Much like the Clean Channel, each Overdrive channel is equipped with a Voice switch, allowing you to tailor the character of each channel and access a broad palette of overdriven tones. Furthermore, switching between channels will recall the specific Voice setting last used, ensuring seamless transitions during your performance.
Clean Gain and Natural Sound
The Overdrive channels are characterized by a high-gain tone that avoids the detached top-end ‘fizz’ often associated with other designs. This remarkable quality stems from unique preamplifier and power amplifier shaping techniques. Importantly, these advancements benefit players by ensuring that the overdrives clean up beautifully when the guitar volume is reduced. Even at extreme settings, the Overdrive channels maintain a natural sound, enhancing your overall playing experience.
Innovative Tone Shaping
Blackstar’s patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control sets a new standard in tone-shaping flexibility. This unique control shifts the response of the three-tone stack between a US-style response at one end and a UK-style response at the other. Moreover, the ISF control allows for an infinite range of alternative tone choices that would otherwise be unavailable, providing a truly personalized sound.
Natural Reverb Options
In addition to its impressive tones, the amplifier features a naturally sounding digital reverb, which can be easily adjusted via the Reverb control on the front panel. For added functionality, you can turn the reverb on and off using the optional 5-way footcontroller. A switch located on the rear panel lets you choose between ‘Dark’ and ‘Light’ reverb settings. The Dark setting emulates a room reverb, while the Light setting replicates a plate reverb. Notably, you can also adjust the reverb decay times differently for each channel by connecting via USB to our proprietary Architect software.
Flexible Power Control
To enhance usability, a Power Switch on the front panel allows you to toggle the amplifier between full power and 10% power. This feature means you can enjoy the full tonal depth of the valve power stage at any volume level, preserving the distinctive sound of power valves working hard.
Advanced Recording Capabilities
Lastly, the amplifier is equipped with a USB connector that enables you to send up to four channels of the guitar signal—dry, preamp out, and stereo emulated out—into a computer for recording purposes. Additionally, this USB connection allows you to access the previously mentioned Architect software, providing extensive editing options not only for reverb but also for in-depth control of CabRig parameters. This includes a power amp, speaker, cabinet, mic, and room emulations, ensuring the amplifier is ideal for practicing, recording, and live performances.
