Multi-instrumentalist, Sina, started learning Violin at the age of eleven in Tehran, Iran. Four years later, he began learning Setar and the ancient Iranian fiddle known as Kamancheh. He studied with a variety of masters including Mohamdreza Atabaki (Violin), Maziar Zahirodinie (Violin), Ardeshir Kamkar (Spike Fiddle), and Zeidolah Tolouie (Setar). In 2007, Sina moved to Vancouver, Canada and shortly after, enrolled in the music program at Vancouver Community College. In his final year of studies, he had the privilege of studying with Marc Destrube (Violin).
Sina’s expressive voice on the Violin and Spike fiddle has played an important role in various ensembles. As a soloist, he has the ability to engage listeners on many levels. Sina has performed numerous concerts in Iran, Canada and US. He is the core member of Kereshmeh Ensemble, and an active member of the Vancouver Inter-cultural Orchestra (VICO), the Zaryab ensemble (Persian and Flamenco fusion music), the Raha ensemble and the Wind band (Jazz and Middle East Fusion Music). In 2010, Sina and the Kereshmeh ensemble performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the Chan Centre. The show featured the legendary Iranian singer, Ali Reza Ghorbani, and received outstanding reviews. Since then, Sina has toured Canada and recorded live sessions for CBC Radio.
Sina has always been interested in composing music. He composed and performed for the play Arash by Bahram Beyzai (2015), Two Hundred Untold Odes (2016), the short film Our Garden Was Green (2016) and theatre productions Athens-Moscow (2017) and The Lady in the Mirror (2018).
