Claire started taking piano lessons in South Korea when she was 4 years old. When she was grade 5, she was trained as a church pianist. She won several local music festivals in Korea during her school time. She also loved music composition so she wrote some short piano pieces when she was in high school. In 2004, she moved to Vancouver with her family, went to Capilano University, and received her Diploma of Music in Piano Performance. After university she earned ARCT from Royal Conservatory of Music and got her Piano Pedagogy certificate from BC Conservatory of Music. She also has served as a church pianist for 10 years at Korean Baptist Church of Vancouver.

As a teacher, Claire has over 10 years of teaching students of all levels from beginner to advanced, kids to adults. Her lessons emphasize on theory, ear training, musicality, and creativity. Claire also encourages students to participate in local music festivals, RCM examinations, and concerts.
